Professional Development Services

Manos Unidas offers dynamic, hands-on professional development workshops designed to strengthen inclusive practices and cultural responsiveness in schools, education settings and community programs. 

Our trainings equip educators, family support professionals, and staff with the knowledge and tools to recognize early developmental and neurodivergent characteristics, foster trusting relationships with families, and navigate systems.

Each session integrates practical strategies for observation, collaboration, and family engagement—helping professionals reduce stigma, build inclusive environments, and connect families with the resources they need to thrive. 

Workshops Offered

  • Recognizing and Supporting Autism: A Workshop for Family Support Professionals
    Learn to identify early signs of autism and other neurodevelopmental differences, communicate effectively with families, and connect them with evaluation and support services.
     

  • Childhood Milestones and Early Detection of Developmental Delays
    Strengthen your observation skills and understanding of developmental milestones to promote early identification, intervention, and family guidance.
     

  • Education Equity: The Intersection of Race and Disability
    Explore how systemic inequities impact access to special education and develop strategies to advocate for equitable, culturally responsive supports.
     

  • Examining the Double Marginalization of Latino Students with Disabilities
    Understand the overlapping barriers faced by Latino students in special education and learn inclusive approaches that honor language, culture, and identity.
     

  • School and Community Inclusion Strategies for Children with Autism and Disabilities
    Gain practical tools to create inclusive classrooms and community spaces that promote belonging and participation for all children.
     

  • Addressing Challenging Behavior in the Classroom Setting
    Learn proactive, positive behavior support strategies grounded in understanding developmental needs and emotional regulation.
     

  • Cultural Competency and Cultural Empathy in Professional Services

  • Promotoras as Vehicles for Change
    Discover how community health workers and promotoras can bridge systems, empower Latino families, and expand access to early intervention and disability supports.

 

Workshops are available virtually or in person  in English and Spanish, both nationally and internationally. 


Fees: Training fees vary based on session length, group size, and customization. Sliding scale options and package rates are available for schools, nonprofits, and community organizations.

Consultation Services

Consultation for Schools, Community Organizations & Health Providers

Manos Unidas partners with schools, community organizations, and health providers to build inclusive, culturally responsive systems of support for children and families. Our bilingual consultation services strengthen collaboration between educators, clinicians, and families—helping institutions improve equity, engagement, and outcomes for neurodivergent and disabled students.

Consultations are available in English and Spanish, virtually or in person, and can be tailored as one-time sessions, ongoing coaching, or project-based partnerships. 

Sliding-scale and package rates are available for schools, nonprofits, and community organizations.

 

School Districts & Educational Agencies

We help schools strengthen inclusive practices and deepen family engagement through comprehensive consultation and coaching. 

Our services include:

  • Reviewing inclusive education programs and policies

  • Designing family engagement strategies that honor multilingual and multicultural communities

  • Developing customized professional training and coaching for educators and paraeducators. 

  • IEP and MTSS system audits to promote equity and access

  • Collaborative problem-solving around complex student cases

 

Health & Early Intervention Providers

We support health and early intervention providers in bridging the gap between medical and educational systems through culturally responsive and family-centered consultation. 

Our services include:

  • Developing inclusive referral pathways that reflect the needs and values of diverse communities

  • Offering training on compassionate communication when sharing developmental concerns or diagnoses

  • Facilitating case consultations that integrate clinical, school, and family perspectives. 

  • Connect providers to community and educational resources, ensuring that families receive coordinated, holistic support across systems.

 

Community-Based Organizations & Nonprofits

We build the capacity of community-based organizations and nonprofits to better serve diverse families and promote disability inclusion. 

Our consultation services include:

  • Designing and evaluating inclusion and advocacy programs

  • Providing staff coaching and training for promotoras, navigators, and family support workers

  • Adapting materials, curricula, and outreach strategies to ensure cultural and linguistic relevance. 

  • Supporting partnership development between community, school, and health systems—strengthening networks of collaboration that create equitable access and meaningful impact for the families they serve.
     

Guest Speaking & Conferences

Manos Unidas delivers inspiring, research-informed presentations that bridge lived experience and professional practice. Our keynote talks, panels, and breakout sessions engage audiences on topics including autism and neurodevelopmental differences, inclusive education, cultural empathy, equity at the intersection of race and disability, and community-based promotoras models.


Available for local, national, and international conferences in English and Spanish.
