Child Development Monitoring

Monitoring your child’s development through family coaching, screenings, and community support.

Developmental screenings help families better understand how children are growing, learning, communicating, and engaging with the world around them.

Our bilingual team partners with families to identify strengths, developmental milestones, and areas where additional support may be helpful.

Developmental Screenings

Developmental screenings are free, 90-minute check-ins that help families understand how their child is growing and learning in areas including:​

 

  • Communication

  • Movement and motor skills

  • Social-emotional development

  • Problem-solving

  • Adaptive skills


We use trusted developmental tools including:

​​

  • Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ)

  • ASQ:SE (Social Emotional)

​

Screenings may take place:​

 

  • In the family’s home

  • At the Manos Unidas office in Kenmore


Results help families connect to:

​​

  • Early intervention services

  • Community resources

  • Developmental supports

  • Additional evaluations if needed

Family Coaching
& Follow-Up

Following each screening, our team provides personalized coaching, developmental guidance, and practical strategies families can use at home.

​

We help caregivers:

​

  • Encourage communication and play

  • Support developmental milestones

  • Build healthy daily routines

  • Strengthen emotional connection and regulation

  • Understand next steps and available services

​

Follow-up screenings may be scheduled every three months or as needed.

​

Our team remains available to answer questions, track progress, and continue supporting families throughout the process.

​Culturally Rooted & Bilingual Support

All screenings are provided entirely in Spanish and are grounded in culturally responsive practices led by native Spanish-speaking practitioners.

Community Education

Manos Unidas promotes developmental awareness and milestone tracking through community workshops and partnerships with organizations serving Latino families.


These workshops help families:

  • Understand developmental milestones

  • Recognize early concerns

  • Access support sooner

  • Build confidence supporting their child’s growth

Requesting a developmental screening is an opportunity to learn more about your child’s growth and discover new ways to support their success.


All children ages 0–5 are encouraged to participate - regardless of developmental history.


Self-referrals welcome.
Organizations may also refer families.
