Meet the Team Behind Our Home-Based Services Program

As Manos Unidas completes the first three-year grant cycle of our Home-Based Services (HBS) program—funded by Innovative Funds from Best Starts for Kids (BSK)—we are taking a moment to reflect on everything we have learned. As an organization committed to meaningful outcomes, we are constantly refining our processes to better serve our community.

At the heart of this work is our dedicated HBS team, whose lived experiences, professional expertise, and deep community roots guide families every single day.

Led by Experience and Heart

Our Home-Based Services team is led by Alejandra Antonio, who brings two years of experience as a promotora with Manos Unidas. As a mother of three neurodivergent girls, Alejandra leads with confidence, empathy, and deep personal insight into the systems families navigate. Her leadership ensures our program remains grounded in equity, understanding, and responsive care.

Welcoming Two New Promotoras to the Team

To expand our reach and deepen our support for local families, we are thrilled to welcome two new promotoras to our HBS team:

Patricia Escolero: Patricia first joined Manos Unidas as a student intern in the spring while pursuing her degree in Human Services at Edmonds College. As a mother of a child with health disabilities, she understands firsthand how to navigate complex health and social service systems. Patricia officially joined our team as a full-time promotora in July.

Jazmine Rodriguez: An LA native and mother of two small children, Jazmine joined our team this summer. She brings valuable experience from her previous role as a Family Resource Coordinator, making her a natural fit for supporting parents through developmental and community navigation.

Investing in Growth and Community Health

Continuous learning is core to our values. Throughout the summer, all three of our promotoras have been actively engaged in specialized training and professional development.

Looking ahead to September, Alejandra, Patricia, and Jazmine will embark on their official Community Health Worker (CHW) training with Washington State. This certification will further strengthen their skills, bringing elevated expertise to the home visits, screening follow-ups, and resource navigation they provide to local families.

We are immensely proud of this team, their dedication to continuous growth, and the incredible families who benefit from their support every day.
