Manos Unidas International is marking 18 months of Ayllu Hogar, our home-based services program designed to support Hispanic families in King County. The program uses the Promotora model—community health workers who serve as trusted family navigators—to connect families with education, health, and community resources.
Since launching, Ayllu Hogar has provided ongoing home visits to more than 50 families, helping them navigate complex systems and access the support their children need. Our focus remains clear: building trust, ensuring access to essential services, and strengthening family capacity. In June, the program hosted an All-Family Gathering, bringing families together to share food, play, and community. Each month, the Mom’s Café welcomes 6–8 mothers and their children, offering a consistent space for connection, learning, and mutual support.
Through the dedication of our Promotoras, families are now accessing early education and therapies sooner, advocating effectively for their children, and meeting essential needs that improve daily life. Ayllu Hogar continues to demonstrate that trust-based relationships drive measurable change in family wellbeing and community connection.Interested in learning more about Ayllu Hogar?
